From the earth's geological evolution to Gujarat's topography and its vulnerabilities — from the devastating aftermath of the 2001 Kutch Earthquake to Gujarat's saga of extraordinary rebuilding — to finally paying digital homage to every soul lost. All experienced through artifacts, immersive art, and virtual simulations.

In 2024, Smritivan became the first museum in India to receive the prestigious UNESCO Prix Versailles Award — recognised among the world's most beautiful museums.

The state-of-the-art memorial and museum were inaugurated on 28 August 2022. The memorial carries the names of nearly 13,000 people who lost their lives — paying tribute to the lost, while celebrating the perseverance of the people of Kutch.
